ORA-01173

Cause

One of the following occurred:

  1. The database was recovered to a point-in-time in the future of the control file.
  2. A data file from a system tablespace (SYSTEM or SYSAUX) was omitted from the CREATE CONTROL FILE command previously issued.

Action

Choose one of the following actions that corresponds with the cause:

  1. Recover the database from a more recent control file.
  2. Re-create the control file and check to ensure that all of the data files in the system tablespaces are included.
